Mead Apartment / Cottage Cabling

AL / IL Cabling:

The Mead has very limited cabling running from IL apartments to our closets.  Most apartments have phone cabling running back to our closets, or, closets that we do not use.

In order to provide cabling for each resident, we would need to pull back a single "Uplink" cable to each room. Some rooms have this already depending on their needs.

Cottage Cabling:

example cottage is cottage 24

Cottage shown below has a termination box on the outside of each home. Each one has pipes ran to the home from an unknown location. Based on previous discovery, the home base is probably our MDF in North or South sides of the building.

On the inside of the home, each drop is wired as such:

On the outside of the building, investigating the term box we can see the cabling being routed in.

 Recommendation:

Thus far, my thoughts would be to try and pull CAT or Fiber from a vacant home, or, a willing resident. Similar to how our village homes are constructed at this time, my idea would be to have an "uplink" cable ran to each home, terminate outside, and utilize this as a source of WiFi.

In this example, the blue squares show our MDF by the fitness center, and our termination point at the home. We would need either Fiber or CAT ran from A to B.
